Rémillard had a strong summer closing for Sanford Mariners

Toronto, Ontario, 24 septembre 2015 - Reliever Iannick Rémillard gained notice in the New England Collegiate League.

Rémillard (Valleyfield, Que.) was ranked 14th on Perfect Game USA’s top 30 prospects from the NECBL after closing for the Sanford Mainers in Sanford, Maine.

The Mariners are coached by former Maine Black Bears and Team Ontario C Aaron Izaryk (Markham, Ont.).

The Canisius Golden Griffs reliever was 1-0 with five saves and a 2.00 ERA this summer. He walked five and struck out 22 in 18 innings.

Last spring pitching for coach Mike McRae (Niagara Falls, Ont.) and the Griffs, Rémillard was 1-4 with a 4.11 ERA and 10 saves. He walked 12 and struck out 41 in 35 innings. He held opponents to a .268 average.

In three seasons at Canisius, he’s 5-4 with a 4.86 ERA and 12 saves. He has walked 22 and fanned 76 in 79 2/3 innings.

He returns to the Buffalo school for his senior season.
